Sculptra

Sculptra is an injectable, non-surgical cosmetic facial treatment designed to help individuals reduce the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles, resulting in a fuller, more youthful facial appearance.

What Is Sculptra?

Sculptra offers a non-surgical solution to eliminate the signs of aging in the face. It is an FDA-approved injectable treatment that addresses the underlying cause of facial aging.

Over the years, an individual’s face may begin to display the effects of gravity, and the underlying tissues in the skin will break down. When this happens, laugh lines, smile lines, crow’s feet and facial creases may start to appear in areas where facial muscle movements commonly occur.

Sculptra Aesthetic stimulates your own collagen growth, leading to facial volume restoration. It helps restore fullness to the face and has been shown to reduce the appearance of facial folds, wrinkles and other signs of aging.

Unlike many other injectable treatments, Sculptra Aesthetic consists of a biocompatible, biodegradable and synthetic material known as poly-L-lactic acid. This material is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body and helps rebuild lost collagen. After a series of Sculptra treatments performed by a trained administrator, an individual can stimulate collagen growth.

During a Sculptra treatment, a patient will receive injections within the deep dermis, an area where strands of collagen support the skin’s structure. On average, a patient will receive three Sculptra treatments over the course of a few months. However, it is important to note that the number of injections per appointment may vary from person to person, depending on how much collagen an individual has already lost.

The CENTER for Advanced Facial Plastic Surgery offers comprehensive Sculptra treatments. All of our Sculptra Aesthetic procedures are performed by Dr. Babak Azizzadeh, a world-renowned and Harvard-trained facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Dr. Azizzadeh will educate patients about the benefits of Sculptra Aesthetic treatments and ensure they can get their desired cosmetic treatment results.

Where Is Sculptra Used?

Sculptra injections are used to correct shallow to deep facial folds and wrinkles. As such, Sculptra Aesthetic injections will address signs of aging between the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds).

In most instances, Sculptra injections will be used to address the following facial issues:

  • Chin wrinkles
  • Marionette lines
  • Smile lines
  • Hollow temples
  • Sagging jowls

Dr. Azizzadeh understands the intricacies of Sculptra treatments. He always dedicates the necessary time and resources to ensure a Sculptra Aesthetic procedure is performed safely and effectively. That way, a Sculptra patient can achieve the optimal results.

How Much Does Sculptra Cost?

The Sculptra cost may vary depending on the number of treatment sessions that a patient needs. Therefore, we recommend you consult with Dr. Azizzadeh to learn about the costs associated with Sculptra injections.

As part of a Sculptra consultation, Dr. Azizzadeh will outline the treatment process and explain the costs associated with it. This will enable a Sculptra patient to understand all costs associated with treatment so he or she can plan accordingly.

Will My Insurance Provider Cover the Cost of Sculptra?

Most insurance companies do not cover the Sculptra cost. This is due to the fact that Sculptra is a cosmetic facial rejuvenation treatment.

Dr. Azizzadeh offers financing to patients who are pursuing Sculptra and other facial rejuvenation treatment options. With the CareCredit medical finance program, patients can get financing to cover some or all of the cost associated with a non-surgical or surgical facial rejuvenation procedure.

CareCredit is a viable financing option for many patients, and the program has no upfront costs, prepayment penalties, and application fees. Dr. Azizzadeh can teach patients about CareCredit and guide them through the application process.

How Long Do Sculptra Results Last?

Sculptra results are long-lasting. Typically, the full results of a Sculptra treatment generally take four to six weeks to be visible and last for up to two years. It takes some time to see the full results of the treatment since Sculptra prompts your body to create new collagen on it’s own. This process gradually happens over the four to six week period.

Dr. Azizzadeh will help an individual establish realistic expectations for a Sculptra treatment. He will provide patients with details about what to expect during and after Sculptra is administered.

Do Sculptra Aesthetic Injections Hurt?

Although no incisions are required during Sculptra injections, patients can experience minor discomfort during treatment. When a Sculptra needle is injected into the skin, a patient can feel a sensation that replicates a light scratch. As Sculptra injections are performed, a patient can also experience a slight stinging sensation.

Prior to Sculptra injections, Dr. Azizzadeh can apply a local anesthetic to the treatment area. This helps numb the area and minimize the risk of discomfort during treatment.

Are You a Good Candidate for Sculptra Aesthetic Injections?

Sculptra Aesthetic is a great option for patients who want to restore lost facial volume and improve the facial contours. The treatment can be used to correct volume issues in the upper, mid, and lower face. Plus, Sculptra can deliver results that last longer than those associated with other dermal fillers.

To determine a patient’s eligibility for Sculptra, Dr. Azizzadeh requests a consultation. Dr. Azizzadeh uses the consultation to evaluate a patient’s facial appearance, review their medical history, and assess their treatment goals. If Dr. Azizzadeh determines a patient is a good candidate for Sculptra or other facial rejuvenation procedures, he provides a custom treatment plan.
